Ike Reighard Brings Message of Hope

Filed under: Uncategorized — chimnme @ 2:47 pm

Dr. Ike Reighard brought a message of hope entitled, “How Do You Perform in the Storm,” on the final weekend in April at Cascade Hills Church. The message from Matthew 7:24-27 resonated with everyone, because everyone goes through storms. Storms are universal. We may not be able to choose our storms, but we have the ability to choose our attitudes through the storms. We get to choose if the storm makes us bitter or better.

Ike Reighard gave his personal testimony of the storm he went through when his wife and newborn child died in the delivery room of Piedmont Hospital. It was a storm he never saw coming. What he learned when he went through that storm was, “God is too wise to be mistaken. God is too good to be unkind. When you don’t understand, when you can’t see His plan, and when you can’t trace His hand, trust God’s heart.”

Seven people accepted Christ as their Savior. Many people gained new insight on storms. A storm handled correctly honors God.

  1. Thank God for His Great Wisdom, Love, and Faithfulness. It was a major storm that tore down the godless life I lived at 18 that got my attention. Like Jesus said, when you know the truth, “the truth will make you free” (John 8:32). Thank you Cascade Hills for dealing with the truth. Here at Cascade Hills I was set free and really began to live just as thousands of others have.

  2. It is such a blessing to be a part of a church that keeps the main thing the main thing and continues to reach the lost for Christ. In a day when winning souls seems to be out of style in some churches., Dr. Bill Purvis keeps it front and center. Monday night visitation is back and is going to be big in winning our city to Christ.

  3. Cascade Hills a Church that Cares.

It is such a joy to know that in a church with several thousand people that we have a class each week that helps people survive the storms of life. It meets every Saturday at 5;00 p. m. in room 222. We help people to keep sailing in spite of their storms. We do not get to choose what we go through in life, however we do get to choose how we go through them. Two class members that have going through the grief of a husband and wife announced last week they we going to be married. Now thats recovery!
